Game Rules

Caribbean Poker

Game objective:

In Caribbean Poker, you play against the dealer and your goal is to beat the dealer's hand.

Game details:

  • The game is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards with no jokers.
  • The deck is shuffled at the start of every game.
  • The minimum bet is $5.00 and the maximum is $200.00. The game and the game rules are identical for real money and play money modes.
  • All suits of cards (Hearts, Spades, clubs, diamonds) are of equal ranking.

How to play:

  • Click on the chip denominations placed on the edge of the table - $1, $5, $25 and $100 to place a bet. This first bet is called the "ante". To remove the ante, click on the chip already placed on the table.
  • After placing the ante the 'DEAL' button becomes active, click this to be dealt cards.
  • Five face-up cards are dealt to the player, and four face-down and one face-up card is dealt to the dealer.
  • Depending upon your hand strength click on 'BET' or 'FOLD'. If you click on 'FOLD', you lose your ante, and the dealer will display his hand on the table.
  • If you click on 'BET' then twice the amount of the ante is automatically placed as the bet. A player cannot take his bet back after he clicks on 'BET'. After this, the result will be displayed in the dealer's black box below.
  • To clear a bet and place a new bet of a different denomination, click on 'CLEAR'.
  • To repeat a bet, click on 'Repeat bet'.
  • Click on 'PAYOFF' to view the 'PAYTABLE'. To return back to the game, click on 'BACK TO GAME'.
  • To check the game rules click on the 'RULES' button.
  • Click on 'GAMELOGS' to view the logs of your last 100 games. For a more detailed report, click on the 'MORE DETAILS' option within the game logs.
  • The 'GAMELOGS' time stamp shows the time on the computer on which the game was played. To see game details featuring the server time stamp, click the 'MORE DETAILS' button.
  • Click on 'VERSION' to view the current version number of the game.
  • To exit from the game, click on the 'EXIT' button on the game window.
  • If your account balance drops below the minimum bet while playing the game, you will have to click on the 'CASHIER' button to add funds.

Game Rules in detail:

You place the first bet called "ante", and you are then dealt a five-card hand. The dealer is also dealt five cards of which four are face-down and only one is face-up. You can choose to either bet or fold, and if the latter, you will lose your ante and thereby end the game. If you bet, then twice the amount of the ante is automatically placed as the bet, and the dealer then reveals his remaining four cards. A dealer is required to have an Ace-King or better to qualify for play against the player. If the dealer's hand is not Ace-King or better, you are paid even money on the ante and nothing (i.e. a push) on the bet.

If the dealer's qualifying hand is better than yours, the house collects your ante and bet.

If the dealer's qualifying hand is worse than your hand, then you are paid even money on the ante and on the bet an amount according to your hand as shown in the payoff table below.

If the dealer's qualifying hand ties with your hand, it is a push and both the ante and the bet are returned to the player.

In addition to the minimum combination of Ace-King for the dealer to qualify, he may also have any of the combinations listed below:

  • One Pair
  • Two Pairs
  • Three of a Kind
  • Straight
  • Flush
  • Full House
  • Four of a Kind
  • Straight Flush
  • Royal Flush (Highest)

If both the hands have the same ranking, the winning hand is the one with the highest numbered cards. For example, a Flush with an Ace high beats a Flush with a King high. In case of the same ranking, then the highest card(s) not being held in common determines the winner. The suit order of the cards is not taken into account while deciding on the winning cards. Should the two hands be absolutely identical in ranking, then it is a push and both the ante and the bet are returned to the player.

You will either have to click on 'Cashier' to add funds to your casino account or bet a smaller amount. If your account balance falls below the minimum allowed bet, you will be prompted to visit the cashier. Once you add funds, you will be taken to the game room to load/start the game again.
